Hakko FX-951 Soldering Station Review
Gone are the days when doing a job of soldering iron took up many hours. Along with it came problems like fluctuating tip temperatures which always made me frustrated when doing a complex work. It just made the work a lot more complex than I would want it to be.
Luckily the electronic soldering irons were a big saver and now we have a wide array of soldering station available in the market. Today I have the pleasure of introducing to you the Hakko FX-951 soldering station review.
We will see if it’s really worthy of getting all the attention that it is receiving from the electronic buffs!
Who can Use the Hakko FX-951?
If you need to do some soldering, the Hakko FX-951 is a great choice. It’s easy to use and great for beginners and people who like to fix electronics as a hobby.
But it’s a professional machine made to handle heavy duty soldering jobs with high performance. It's really a great choice for me, I am sure you would love it too.
The Features Of Hakko FX-951 Review
So, what is it that makes the Hakko soldering station one of my first choices when it comes to getting a good deal?
Remember the days when you had to wait for 5 minutes for the tip of the iron to get hot?
Not anymore. With the FX-951, you can reach the optimum temperature within a few seconds. Say you got to do some heavy soldering job which needs you to heat the tip to 700 degrees F; guess how long it takes for the Hakko FX-951?
Just around 5 seconds! I love it that I can get down to quickly fix my electronics without any delay!
Consistent Tip Temperature
When you are doing soldering items with high thermal mass, the heat of the iron spreads over the surface and cools the tip down. Traditional irons had the heating element separate from the iron so there was no way to optimize the tip temperature.
But The FX-951 is a charm to work with as the electronic system constantly monitors the tip temperature and tries to adjust it to the set temperature. The system is aware when to send more power to the tip to heat it up maintaining a constant temperature.
Auto Sleep Mode
I don’t find it safe to keep my iron burning at 800 degrees when I leave my desk for attending to something else. It consumes power too and decreases the longevity of the tip life.
The Hakko FX-951 comes with the auto sleep feature which cools down the tip to around half the set temperature. You just have to place it on the holder and voila!
With kids around the house, I find it a great feature - I don't really have to worry about the safety anymore.
Small and Comfy Iron
The soldering iron of the Hakko FX-951 is the best part of the machine
I have never seen anything so light and so compact that it feels just like the extension of your hand. You can easily reach geometrically difficult areas without disassembling too many parts from your gadget.
You also won’t find any problem to change the tips which can be done in a jiffy. It’s really easy to handle which wins another vote for the FX-951 from me!
Flexible Choice of Irons and Tips
I have to use different kind of irons for my projects; sometimes the tips need adjusting too.
The FX-951 will make your life easy as you can use a variety of tips and irons with the same station. When I want to use 50 awg wires or go for some trace repair, I can easily switch over to a micro-pencil tip and iron without any problems.
It also accommodates the standard iron comfortably!
